Common Questions about Our Grants
How do I apply for a grant?
We do not give grants directly to individuals. If you are in need of sight- or hearing-related care that you cannot afford, please contact your local Lions Club. If they are able to help, they will submit the grant application on your behalf. If you don't know how to find your closest Lions Club or the nearest Club isn't able to help you, please contact us.
If you are an organization needing support for sight- or hearing-related programs, you can submit a Project Support Grant. You can download an application for 2009 here.
What kinds of sight and hearing programs do you support?
We have supported many different kinds of programs, from low vision clinics to a diabetes foundation to reading equipment for schools and libraries. We do not provide money for operational costs, such as salaries. If you have specific questions about funding, please contact us.
Do you provide grants for conditions unrelated to sight or hearing?
No, we don't. For other needs, we recommend you contact your local United Way office.
Does the Northwest Lions Foundation offer scholarships?
No, but many Lions Clubs do. Click here to find one in your area. Or call us, and we'll try to connect you with the nearest Club.
I love what you're doing. How can I help?
Becoming an organ donor is a great first step! Your tax-deductible financial support helps us provide grants for sight- and hearing-related care and programs. Another great way to get involved is to join the Lions. Not only will you have opportunity to support the Northwest Lions Foundation, you'll be able to make a difference in your own community! Finally, you can check our employment page to see if we have any openings that may fit your skills and interests.
